Publishing with
Page & Podium Press
A book that looks like it came from a Big Five publisher—without giving up your voice, your values, or your power

You’ve lived your story, worked through it, and found the courage to put it on the page.
But now that the draft is done (or close!), you’re standing at the edge of a very big, very scary next step: publishing.
And if you’re like most of our authors, you’re already overwhelmed.
Do you self-publish?
Try for a book deal?
Hire a formatter off the internet and hope for the best?
How do you know what you don’t know?

Here’s the good news:
You don’t have to know!
That’s what we’re here for.

—Wendy Davis, PhD
Author of The Fight You Don’t See
Expectations were set, and the communication was great. I felt like I was informed of every step in the process. The team at Page & Podium also helped me understand my publishing options. The book publishing industry continues to change, and you need someone who is up on the latest trends with an understanding of options. I needed that advice to help me align options to my vision for the book.
When you publish with Page & Podium, you will still be actively involved in the process. You don’t outsource the work. You’re working with a partner for the entire experience. It is YOUR book, and you have to be actively involved. You also need to trust the professionals. You hire them for a reason. It’s your story, but you’ve asked for their help. When there are differences, trust and active communication will get you through it.
Most importantly, I feel like I have a quality product that I am proud of—it is my story in my voice. That didn’t come easily. It is a result of a solid working partnership.
We’re like general contractors for your book.
When you publish with Page & Podium Press, you don’t have to find (and vet, and manage, and coordinate) a whole team of professionals.
You don’t have to interview editors, sift through designer portfolios, or guess at what goes into a distribution slate.
We know who you need to make this book incredible—and they’re already on your team.
From the first conversation to the final proofread, we’ll coordinate every step of the publishing process for you—stay as involved as you’d like in the process to make sure your voice and vision are always in the foreground.
You’ll have a single point of contact who keeps everything running smoothly, plus a whole crew of specialists who each bring their own magic to the project.
Just like a general contractor brings in the electrician, plumber, and roofer to build your dream home, we’ll bring in the developmental editor, copy editor, book designer, and publishing strategist to bring your book to life.
The best part? Your team really gets you.
We specialize in memoir. We only work with authors who want to help others with their stories. And most importantly,
We believe women’s stories matter. Especially now.
We work with so many women who’ve done the hard part:
they’ve written the book.
They’ve processed the pain, crafted the story, and shaped it into something meaningful.
But when it comes time to publish—to share it with the world—they hesitate.
Not because they don’t believe in the story, but because they’ve been told that nobody else will.
For generations, women have been told to keep our stories to ourselves.
To be considerate.
To be careful.
To be quieter.
And so many powerful, necessary stories never make it past the privacy of a journal or a hard drive.
We’re here to change that.

At Page & Podium, we believe that publishing your book isn’t just the next step in your writing process—it’s a bold, meaningful act.
When you share your truth with readers, you create connection, spark empathy, and remind people (yourself included) that none of us are alone in our struggles.
That kind of storytelling deserves to be taken seriously.
And we believe it deserves the same level of care, craft, and professionalism the Big Five publishers give their authors—without sacrificing your voice or vision.
Join the dozens of authors publishing their books for all the right reasons
A book that’s indistinguishable from the Big Five
Except this time, you’re in control.
We’ve all seen it: books published by major houses with glossy covers, beautiful interior layouts, and that unmistakable sense of polish that says, this is legit.
That’s exactly what your readers will see
when they hold your book.
When you publish with Page & Podium Press, your book will meet the highest industry standards in both form and function. It will look and feel like it came straight out of a New York publishing house—because it’s built by the same caliber of professionals.
The only difference?
You’re the one steering the ship.
Let’s get one thing straight. Traditional book contracts are prestigious because they’re selective. They only take on the best books.
The big secret?
With traditional publishers, that selectivity comes at the expense of your control.
The press might change your title.
You won’t get to pick your cover.
They may require revisions that feel inauthentic at best.
And don’t get us started on publishing rights.
Where Press Selectivity
meets
Author Control

I’ve published books with three different traditional presses.
The first press changed my book’s title.
The second rejected my cover options.
By the third, I knew there had to be a better way.
Not a vanity press—where every book is accepted, regardless of quality.
Not a traditional—where selectivity comes at the cost of control.
A new model. We set high standards because we know our authors want their books to stand out. And because we trust our authors to have the clearest, most authentic vision of their book, we partner with them to bring their books to life.
When we work with an author, it’s because we know that together, we can bring to market a book that’s beautiful—both inside and out.

What our authors hear from their readers…
This book reads like a novel – if you’re not remembering that this is a real person, it’s just a total page turner and you’re waiting to see how the main character will overcome the next challenge and how it turns out. Who’s the antagonist this time? Who’s the hero? But it IS a real person, Gretchen, sharing her most vulnerable thoughts, feelings, memories, and experiences, all in service of her own continued accountability and healing, and in the spirit of paying it forward to anyone she can
Gretchen Norling Holmes, The Work In Between
*Lonely CEO* is a refreshingly honest look at the challenges and isolation that come with leading a company. The insights are both practical and heartfelt, offering a unique blend of strategic advice and personal reflection. With relatable anecdotes and actionable tips, this book is a must-read for leaders at any stage. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a realistic view of what it truly means to be at the top.
Brian Town, The Lonely CEO
This book was eye-opening; I learned so much that as an “average voter” I was previously unaware of. Even when you work to educate yourself, there is so much that happens behind the curtains of modern American politics. This book offers a peak into that world. The author, who is engaging and delightful, tells her story in an honest and unbiased way that appeals to anyone wanting to learn more about the candidate side of local politic races. Well worth the read!
Wendy Davis, The Fight You Don’t See
I highly recommend this book — not just for your own well-being, but for the benefit of your family and the planet. Tracy offers a well-researched, thoughtful approach to holistic wellness, clearly modeling how to align what matters most with daily choices across all areas of life. Clear, concise, and intimately written, this book left me feeling empowered to make wiser choices.
Tracy Houle, Ancestral Wisdom for Modern Healing

Let’s see if we can help!
Our process is simple:
Step 1: Author Interview
Collaboration might as well be our middle name. We want you involved at every step in the process.
To make sure things go smoothly, we’ll get to know you—and let you get to know us.
Step 2: Manuscript Review
Most agents and traditional publishers won’t give you more than a “yes” or, more often, a “no.” But we want success for your book whether you publish with us or not!
We’ll review your manuscript and share our overall analysis, market-fit suggestions, the book’s strongest pitch, and a set of simple, clear, step-by-step revision instructions.
Once your review is prepared, we’ll reach out for a complimentary strategy session to discuss next steps.
Step 3: Revision
Revisions can be a bear—that’s why we’re here to help! When you publish with Page & Podium, you’ll get the support you need to actually execute the changes your manuscript needs.
STEP 4: EDITORIAL
A cold-eye professional copyeditor will work with you to tighten your books prose, correct any inconsistencies, check for continuity errors, and generally make sure your book is polished and ready for readers.
Step 5: Production
With your completed manuscript in hand, you’re ready to move into production. We’ll consult with you on every step of this process, from design to layout to back cover copy and everything in between!
Step 6: Launch
Your book will be ready to launch just a few months after you complete revisions.
But we won’t stop there! We’ll help you strategize the best launch date for you and your book, complete with detailed instructions for promoting your title.
Your vision. Your work. Your book.
You’ve poured hours of work—blood, sweat, and literal tears—into this project.
Let us support you from here.
FAQs
Nope. We’re not a vanity press. Page & Podium is a selective hybrid publisher. That means we only accept manuscripts we believe in—and we’re just as invested in your book’s success as you are. Our authors maintain full creative control, but they also benefit from the care, craft, and high standards of a traditional publisher.
Memoir is our specialty, but we also publish other story-driven nonfiction. If your book is rooted in personal experience and shaped to connect with readers—whether it’s a hybrid self-help memoir, a narrative nonfiction book, or a mission-driven manifesto—it may be a great fit for us.
We work with everyone, regardless of gender. That said, we are especially passionate about championing women’s stories—particularly those that have been historically overlooked, dismissed, or silenced. If that resonates with you, you’re in the right place.
Great books are built on collaboration. Most of the time, we’ll find a solid compromise that meets both your vision and our standards. In the rare event that we can’t find a solution—like if a cover design could reflect poorly on our brand but you don’t want to revise it—we’ll work with you to find a path forward. That might mean self-publishing with our support or transitioning to another publisher in our network. This kind of disagreement is very rare, but we’re committed to a respectful, solutions-focused process.
That’s okay! Our revision process is collaborative, not prescriptive. We’ll always explain the “why” behind our suggestions and help you find ways to strengthen your book without losing your voice. But ultimately, it’s your book. If our editorial vision doesn’t align with yours, you’re free to walk away after your manuscript review—no hard feelings and no obligation to continue.
Absolutely. We’ll meet you wherever you are in the process. If you’ve already worked with an editor or designer, we’re happy to review that work and integrate it into the rest of your publishing journey. We can also help you fill in any gaps to ensure your book meets professional standards from start to finish.
Most books are ready to launch within 4–6 months after revisions are complete. Your exact timeline will depend on the scope of your manuscript, how quickly revisions are made, and your preferred launch date. Your project manager will help you stay on track every step of the way.
